The Muncie Symphony Orchestra holds an annual competition for young musicians in the region- all orchestral instruments welcome. Two divisions – the Junior and the Senior- provide the opportunity to select a winner in two groups: a younger player (grades 6-8) and a more seasoned player (grades 9-11). Both division winners will receive cash prizes and will have a performance opportunity.
This competition gives children in our area an opportunity to learn, listen and be involved in music and it allows us to discover up and coming talented musicians, and present them to the audience at large. If you know of a child that is musically talented, this is a reminder that the application deadline is December 1, 2013 for the Young Artist Competition 2014.
