The Inexplicable Universe: Unsolved Mysteries
Wednesdays, Aug. 20-Sept. 3, 10-11:30 a.m.
Facilitator: Charles Gilbert
No Charge - Reservations Required
Everything we now know about the universe-from the behavior of quarks to the birth of entire galaxies-has stemmed from scientists who've been willing to ponder the unanswerable. And with the advent of modern science, great minds have turned to testing and experimentation rather than mere thought as a way of approaching and grappling with some of the universe's most pressing and vexing dilemmas. Produced by The Teaching Company, these DVD lectures feature Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson, Director of the Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History in New York. Dr. Tyson also hosts The Cosmos, a science documentary series televised on the Fox network, and former host of the PBS television series NOVA scienceNOW.

Two topics Covered Each Date:
Aug. 20: History’s Mysteries & The Spooky Universe
Aug. 27: Inexplicable Life & Inexplicable Physics
Sept. 3: Inexplicable Space & Inexplicable Cosmology
