You are invited to attend LEADING CHANGE, a workshop series sponsored by MOSAIC (a newly formed social justice peer education program sponsored by the Office of Student Life) to engage undergraduate students in open dialogues focused on social justice topics to promote awareness, change, and intergroup understanding. Please register for the LEADING CHANGE workshops you plan to attend.

LEADING CHANGE Workshop Series:

Who Are You, Really?
Wednesday, February 19, 2014 | 7:00 p.m. | Student Center, Room 303
Too often words such as race, nationality, and ethnicity are thrown around as if they are synonyms. Do you know the difference? If not, this workshop will explore those differences and help you identify your race, nationality, and ethnicity.

Disability Awareness: Common Attitudes and Feelings Toward Those with Disabilities

Monday, March 3, 2014 | 7:00 p.m. | Student Center, Cardinal Hall C
Many people have certain attitudes and feelings toward people with disabilities based on stereotypes portrayed in media. This workshop will highlight the realities of those living with disabilities and help participants identify and challenge their own attitudes toward people living with disabilities.

Activism: A Visionary for Change

Wednesday, March 19, 2014 | 7:00 p.m. | Student Center, Room 303
Are you an activist? Do you want to become an activist? Activists are people who see the need for change and advocate for that change. This workshop will teach you how to use your own experiences and passions to influence others in your efforts to improve the world around us.

Identity: Knowing and Owning Who You Are
Monday, March 31, 2014 | 7:00 p.m. | Student Center, Cardinal Hall C
We all have an identity comprised of different components such as gender, religion, etc. Some of those components are controllable, while others are inherent. In this workshop, you will identify the components that define you as a person, and realize the ways in which your identity directly influences your environment.

The Outer Dimension: How Other People Create Your Identity
Wednesday, April 16, 2014 | 7:00 p.m. | Student Center, Room 303
Have you ever considered how others shape your identity? This workshop will explore the concept of double-consciousness; “…this sense of always looking at one’s self through the eyes of others, of measuring one’s soul by the tape of a world that looks on in amused contempt and pity.” – W.E.B. Du Bois
