Career Center National Recognition

On Tuesday, June 6, the National Association of Colleges and Employers awarded the Career Center of Ball State with the Career Services Excellence Award at its 2017 Conference and Expo in Las Vegas. According to its website, the distinction is “awarded for excellence in career services best practices providing guidance, service, and resources to students.”

“The process of striving for national recognition empowers us to serve our students and partners better, something our team is very passionate about, as evidenced by being the one career center in the country to earn the Career Services Excellence Award at our national conference,” said Jim McAtee, Director for the Career Center. “I’m so proud of the entire team in the Career Center for earning this national award!”

Funding Opportunity: NEH Summer Stipends

The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Summer Stipend program supports individuals pursuing advanced research that is of value to humanities scholars, general audiences, or both. Eligible projects typically result in articles, monographs, books, digital materials, archaeological site reports, translations, editions, or other scholarly resources. Summer Stipends support continuous full-time work on a humanities project for a period of two months.

An outright award of $6,000 is provided for two consecutive months of full-time research and writing. In accordance with NEH guidelines, Ball State may nominate two faculty proposals to submit to NEH.

Ball State internal application deadline is August 25, 2017.
Deadline for final submission to the NEH is September 27 for projects beginning May 2018.

Tucker Student Travel Grant for Autism Research
