Spring 2015 Culture Exchange Series – Finland

Each week the Rinker Center for International Programs (RCIP) holds a presentation in the Pittenger Student Center (Yuhas Room) from 12-1PM. These presentations highlight different countries by offering natives a chance to share their insider’s look into these countries and their cultures.

The presentations are accompanied by internationally-themed food served from 11AM-1:30PM in the Tally Food Court (for details, see: http://netnutrition.bsu.edu/NetNutrition/Home.aspx and click "Student Center Tally Food Court”.)

This coming Wednesday, April 1, Emelie Snickars presents her native country, Finland!

Finland is a Nordic country in Northern Europe bordered by Sweden, Norway and Russia (the nation of Estonia lies across the Gulf of Finland). Come learn more about this fascinating country at Culture Exchange; we hope to see you there!

At 7:30 p.m. on Monday, March 30, in room 104 of Bracken Library, Jodi Perras – Indiana Representative for Sierra Club's Beyond Coal campaign – will speak about the fight for solar and wind power and energy efficiency in Indiana, explain how these issues affect Muncie and suggest ways in which citizens can get involved.

Perras’s appearance is sponsored by Living Lightly, which will hold its annual sustainable living fair on Saturday, September 19.

In the lead-up to Ball State's centenary celebration in 2018, students in Dr. Michael Doyle's Oral History Workshop immersive-learning course will be conducting interviews later this month with selected members of the Black Alumni Constituent Society or other African-Americans who earned their degree(s) from the University between 1950 and 2000.
