STAND UP! BYSTANDER INTERVENTION TRAINING

Sexual assaults are happening against women and men in our community; we all share the responsibility to intervene and keep our community safe. Attend Stand Up! Bystander Intervention Training to learn ways in which YOU can safely interfere in any situation where someone else needs help- including sexual, verbal or physical assault. Training's are open to Ball State students.

Dates of Training Sessions

3/17/17, Friday, 2:30-5:00 pm, Student Center Room 310
4/17/17, Monday, 6:30-9:00 pm, Student Center Forum Room

Please sign up for one of the sessions by sending an email to blmcneill@bsu.edu and putting STAND UP! BYSTANDER INTERVENTION TRAINING and the DATE OF THE SESSION in the subject line. Your email is your registration. Registration is limited so sign up early. Upon completion of the training, participants will receive a certificate of completion, as well as other resources and materials.

Presented by the Sexual Threat and Oppression Prevention Outreach Team at the Counseling Center, the Office of Victim Services, and The Office of Health, Alcohol, and Drug Education.

The Talk Show

March 16th (Thursday) at 7pm//Robert Bell Building, Rm 125
April 21st (Friday) at 11am//Bracken Library, Rm 104

This outreach program aims to facilitate discussion and understanding of cultural rape myths that exist on the BSU campus. Our trained and knowledgeable presenters enact various roles of a Talk Show, and clarify rape myths, as well as rape-supportive attitudes, held by all gender identities. At the end, presenters step out of their roles and share insights about their experiences in those roles.
