The department is pleased to welcome back Sutton Foster to co-direct Shrek The Musical,
for which she originated the role of Princess Fiona on Broadway. Based
on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, the Tony Award-winning
musical features the same beloved characters, with some interesting
twists. Shrek, the ogre content to live alone, plans to confront the
prince to allow the fairy tale misfits to go back to their homes so he
can remain a recluse. After being saved by Shrek, the overly friendly
and fiercely loyal Donkey insists on joining him, and together they
attempt to rescue Princess Fiona, who has her own dark secrets to hide.
Fun for the whole family, Shrek The Musical proves that beauty truly is in the eye of the ogre.
Shrek The Musical is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).

Tickets for “Shrek the Musical” cost $18 for the general public and $15 for students, staff, faculty and senior citizens. New this year for University Theatre Mainstage productions is a ticket price of $10 for children 12 and under.
