Red Cross: Blood Shortage due to Severe Winter Storm

Severe winter weather across much of the U.S. is doing more than keeping people indoors, it’s keeping blood off the shelves. Nearly 240 American Red Cross blood drives have been canceled in 23 states, and the result is a shortfall of nearly 7,000 blood and platelet donations.

We never know when or where Mother Nature may hit next, but we know we must do what we can to ensure blood is available for patients in need. To help ensure blood is available for hospital patients in need, blood donors of all types are needed. There is currently an urgent need for types O positive and negative, A negative and B negative blood.

Please consider donating at our upcoming blood drive to help make up the shortfall caused by these cancellations.
