The Ball State University Sport Administration program is hosting the annual Chase Charlie 5K Run|Walk|Roll Presented by Army ROTC on September 24 at 9 a.m. prior to the Ball State vs. Army Football on Family Weekend. Proceeds from the race will benefit TAPS - the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors.

The 5K is a race for all ages open to runners, walkers, wheelchairs, and strollers (no bicycles). The 5K (3.1 mile) course begins at the Alumni Center, strolls through campus, and ends on the field at Scheumann Stadium. A map and specific directions will be provided on race day. Light refreshments and awards will be distributed after the race at the Picnic Shelter in Benadum Woods (north side Scheumann Stadium).

Chip timing will be used to score the 5K race. All runners must attach the Chip as instructed in order to be timed and eligible for any awards. Awards will be distributed to the top racers in the following male and female divisions: 18 & younger, 19-24, 25-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 & up, and wheelchair.

All pre-registrants (deadline September 18) are guaranteed a t-shirt. The first 300 registrants will receive a ticket to the Ball State vs. Army football game. Day-of registrants will receive t-shirts and game tickets on a first come, first served basis.

Race day check-in for 5K participants begins at 7 a.m. and ends at 8:45 a.m. inside the Alumni Center. Parking is available in the north end of the gravel lot on the northwest side of Scheumann Stadium (enter off Bethel). All cars must be removed from this lot no later than 11:00 a.m. Cars may be parked for the day in the lot adjacent to Cardinal Creek Tennis Courts (free) or the lot next to Ball Baseball Diamond ($5).
