To kick off the yearlong commemoration of Ball State University’s 100th anniversary, you are invited to our Centennial Birthday Celebration. On June 15, the University will close at 2 p.m. so that faculty, staff, and students can join us on the Quad for:
–free commemorative Centennial T-shirts
–free cake and ice cream
–lots of fun, games, and prizes including a cupcake decorating contest, yard games, family reunion style competitive games (three-legged race, balloon toss, egg/spoon relay, and KanJam), and Ball State trivia game

To sign up for the games:
1. Go to IMLeagues and create an account. Select Ball State as your school/organization.
2. You’ll get an email from IMLeagues. Click on the link to confirm your account.
3. After logging in on the IMLeagues home page, click on Ball State University. This will open the Ball State intramurals page, with the Centennial Celebration games and cupcake contest listed in the center.
4. Select a game or contest, then Create Team, and register your team.
5. You may register for as many events as your team wants to participate in.

You are invited to be a part of the Ball State 100 commemorative photograph at 3 p.m., dress casually (including shorts) for work on June 15 for a $1 donation to the United Way, and bring an item for the Centennial Time Capsule. Collection containers will be located near the tent for the UW donations and time capsule items.

The date of this event was chosen to recognize June 17, 1918—the day Ball State first accepted student registrations. Faculty and staff may consult the frequently asked questions (PDF) about how to handle Kronos timekeeping for the day on the Payroll and Employee Benefits website.

As we celebrate our Centennial, we remember how our campus has grown and how our University has served Muncie and the state of Indiana. Our Centennial theme, “Beneficence: Proud Past and Bright Future,” honors the accomplishments of our faculty, staff, students, and alumni. It also recognizes the enduring values our University is committed to—excellence, integrity, social responsibility, respect, and gratitude—as symbolized by our iconic Beneficence statue.
