Leveraging WebEx Online Web Conferencing for Instruction

iLearn will present "Leveraging WebEx Online Web Conferencing for Instruction".

This session will introduce participants to the basic functions and application of WebEx, recently adopted by Ball State University to allow faculty and staff to facilitate online meetings.

Following the first hour of the presentation, one-on-one assistance will be provided. Learners are encouraged to bring their own laptops.

At the end of the training session learners will be able to:

1. Differentiate between the Meet Now and Schedule options.

2. Initiate a WebEx session and configure options that include setting the date, time, and length; inviting participants; setting a password; and recording the meeting.

3. Use the polling tool to interact with participants.

4. Utilize the Audio, Record, Share My Desktop, Share Video, Mute, Chat, and Host/Presenter functions while conducting a WebEx session

Sessions will take place September 14 from 10-11 a.m. [register] and

September 22 from 2-3 p.m. [register]

Blended Learning Course Dates and Information

Blended Learning Certificate Course (4 week course beginning Monday, September 12 or Tuesday, September 13 and ending October 4, 2016)
Face to Face Meeting - Choose from September 12, 2016 3:00-4:30pm
September 13, 2016 9:00-10:30am

Second Face to Face Presentation Dates: September 26 and/or September 27, 2016
ONLINE and Ball Communication Rm. 220
Please register no later than 5:00 pm on Friday, September 9, 2016

There will be 2 face to face meetings with the first face to face meeting scheduled on Monday, September 12, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. or Tuesday, September 13, 2016 9:00-10:30am, otherwise this course is all online. The objective of this course is to identify elements needed to effectively be implemented within a blended learning course. Upon completion of this course the learner will be able to design a blended module. Faculty can sign up for either time (September 12, 3-4:30 or September 13 9-10:30) then we will decide as a group during our first meeting the presentation meeting date to complete the course.

Blackboard Learning Sessions for August

The Integrated Learning Institute (iLearn) will host sessions in August to help faculty and/or staff learn to use Blackboard. Three major offerings include:

Blackboard Getting Started: Grade Center This workshop is 50 minutes in length and will be an overview of the processes and workflows necessary to use the Blackboard Grade Center and submit grades to the Registrar. The workshop will focus on creating grade columns, using categories to manage columns, using either points or weighted percentage based total scores, customizing grade letter values and entering grades.

Foundations of Blackboard Whether you are new to Blackboard, have limited experience with it, or have not looked at it in awhile, this course will talk about the things you will need to know to master Blackboard’s basic functions and start doing more.
